There are endless tourist attractions in and around Stuttgart: For art lovers, there are many museums and galleries. Also, there is a wide range of drama and music - performances plus operas, ballet, theatre musicals, variety shows, cabaret, puppetry and more. The region is full of architectural landmarks, such as the Weissenhofsiedlung, that pioneered post-modernist design, and the world's first TV tower made of concrete.

Other highlights include the Wilhelma Zoo, Germany's only combined zoological/botanical gardens.

The picturesque landscape is unique for its forests, gardens, parks and vineyards, which often extend into the cities' for example, in Stuttgart- and Esslingen.

Some of the popular landmarks are as follows:
The Opera House, Altes Schloss (Old Palace), Neues Schloss (New Palace), Schloss Solitude (Solitude Palace), Königsbau (King's Building), Staatstheater (State Theater) Markthalle (Market Hall), Hauptbahnhof (Main Railway Station), the Main commercial Street called Königstrasse, Weissenhofsiedlung, Fernsehturm (TV Tower), Staatsgalerie (State Gallery) and the heart of Stuttgart at the Schlossplatz. Nearby is the city of Ludwigsburg with its famous palace and the gardens in the baroque-style.

Stuttgart's Swabian cuisine, beer and wine are quite famous. Every year, you can visit the famous beer festivals "Cannstatter Volksfest" on the "Cannstatter Wasen" or the "Stuttgarter Frühlingsfest". They are second only in size to the Oktoberfest in Munich.
